It is a sound alternative for Skype and has its own advantages where other social sites only allow us to make usual conversation, as we use the term "chatting", this does not only have "chatting" but also has calling, video calling along with Google emoji. Google emoji is used to express emotions while in a conversation by little animated characters.

There have been a few criticisms regarding the fact that during a hangout if one of the invited people behaves in an inappropriate manner, we do not have any option of ceasing their place in the conversation. They also faced criticism from Electronic Frontier Foundation for not merging with open standard protocol XMPP.
